On Sunday, March 4th, tragedy struck yet once again in South Florida. At at apartment complex along 41st street in Oakland Park, a 7 year old boy and his father were attending a barbeque. Many adults had gathered around the pool for the party and kids were enjoying the day, swimming. No one is completely sure of when, but at some point, the boy started to drown. There were a lot of people around the pool area when it happened. All of a sudden, they started screaming and the boy's father jumped in the pool to pull his son out. He performed CPR until the paramedics came and transported the boy to Holy Cross hospital. He was pronounced dead soon after. The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating. The question on everyone's mind is: Could this drowning have been prevented?
