When a person dies in a sensless car accident, it is sad and tragic. When
two people from the same family lose their lives that way, it becomes
a horrific nightmare for the family. Unfortuneately, this week in Boca
Raton, it happened.
Mother and daughter Angelina Ferrarella, 85, and Donna D'Angelo, 54,
were both killed in a car accident just west of Boca Raton on Sandlefoot
Boulevard. Ferrarella's husband, Liborio, their son, Peter and D'Angelo's
husband, Carlo were all seriously injured as well. The grandfather, father
and son being treated for their injuries at Delray Medical Center.
The police suspect that the driver of the other vehicle, Joanne Luu, 19,
may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Luu was driving
northbound on 441 when she ran a red light. Her car struck Ferrarella's
car that was traveling eastbound.
Luu posted photos of the accident and her injuries to her Twitter account.
Her passenger Daniel Maplethorpe also only suffered minor injuries. She
tweeted, "We got into a really bad car accident and two people died."
She further tweeted that she had not run the light.
