How long does a personal injury case take to solve? This is a question
we receive often from our clients. Unfortunately, the answer is that it
depends. There is no such thing as a "clear cut-and-dry" personal
injury case that resolves itself quickly. Even in cases where the Defendent
admits fault, personal injury cases can still take years to work through.
You don't have to do any guesswork, tough. We have created our personal
injury timeline downloads that help our clients understand in what "phase"
they might be in with their case at any given time, and about how long
that phase can be expected to last.
The stages are: Pre-Suit; Demand; Negotiation; and Closing and Settlement.
If the case must go to trial, the typical duration would be an additional
1-3 years before a settlement or trial is reached.
