Nephew of Dalai Lama Killed in Florida Pedestrian Accident: How can you avoid becoming a victim of a pedestrian accident?
This month, the Dalai Lama's nephew had planned to begin a peace walk of 300 miles from St. Augustine to West Palm Beach. But, only 30 miles into his journey, he was struck by an SUV on highway A1A.
The accident occurred on Monday, February 14. Jigme Norbu had almost finished his walk for the day when he was hit. He died at the scene.
Norbu was walking on the edge of the road; the other side of the road had a sidewalk. Perhaps if he was on the sidewalk, Norbu would still be spreading his message of peace for Tibet. Pedestrians who walk on sidewalks are much safer than pedestrians on the road – especially at night.
