A 7-year-old girl died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver.
The
South Florida pedestrian accident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, December 22 on the 7300 block of Tam O'Shanter Boulevard in North Lauderdale.
Francesca Moise was walking along the street with her mother, brother and sister when a white and black car drove onto the grass and hit her. The vehicle then sped away without stopping.
Francesca suffered severe head injuries and was taken to Broward General Medical Center where she remained in a coma until she died on Friday afternoon.
Police officers later found a black and white Acura Integra left abandoned near a Lauderhill warehouse. The vehicle had sustained damage consistent with striking a small child. Police are still searching for the driver.
