West Palm Beach, Florida Bullying Case Against Palm Beach County, Florida

A Palm Beach County, Florida student, Christian Staley,  was bullied repeatedly by another student at Seminole Trail Elementary School in West Palm Beach Florida.  Staley was pummeled in front of the teacher in his physical education class.  The next day, the teacher said he thought it was just "kid play."

After Staley was threatened that he would be "cut with a knife,"  the student who made that threat actually brought a pen knife to school the following day.  After a search of the bully's desk, the knife was found, and the student was suspended.

After an appeal by Staley's father, the suspension was turned to 30-day probation for both students.
