Are nursing homes required to have AEDs(automatic external defibrillators) on site?

A: In Florida, there is a recent law that requires nursing homes and assisted living facilities to have defibrillators on site to ensure that if someone has a heart attack, the AED can be used to try to save their lives.  There may be liability on the part of the facility if it did not comply with the new law by having an AED on site.  Contact our office for more information.
