2009 Florida Car Crash Fatality Statistics

When reading Florida car crash statistics, it is important to remember that the numbers represent people. Of those killed, 1,099 (43%) were drivers, 453 (17.7%) were passengers, 413 (16.1%) were motorcyclists, 466 (18.2%) were pedestrians, and 107 (4.2%) were motorcyclists.

Seat belts have been proven to save lives; 846 Florida lives may have been saved if the victims had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
