Michelle Williams received a call on Thursday, March 1st that no parent ever wants to receive. Her husband called to say that their 9 month old baby, Kobe had fallen into the pool and wasn't breathing. By the time she got home, the ambulance and her Kobe had already left. She had to wait, in agony for awhile before she could find out what was going on.
When the deputies finally aproached her, her screams could be heard from blocks away. Kobe had died at the hospital. They later found out that he left the house through a sliding door that had been left open. Her husband, equally distraught, had only left their baby alone for 5 minutes. he left the room to tend to their other child.
Could this accident have been prevented? Too many homes today with pools lack the now required pool gates and fences.
