The 5K optional run or walk will be start at the Meyer Amphitheatre in
downtown West Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday, September 28
On Saturday, September 28
th, 2013, hundreds will gather in downtown West Palm Beach for a run to benefit
the American Heart Association.
The Palm Beach Heart Walk 2013 offers a 3.1 mile route for runners and
a 1 mile route for walkers. The goal of the fundraiser to is to spread
awareness and education about cardiovascular heart disease, and raise
money to fund research and treatment efforts.
Organizers have a goal of raising $750,000 from volunteers and participants,
and as of September 18
th, 2013, they are well on their way with $441,000 already reached.
On the website,
www.PalmBeachHeartWalk.org, visitors can register themselves or their teams, report fundraising milestones,
read heart disease survivor stories, get educated on heart-healthy living,
and even find an app with tips on how to fundraise.
The walk is free for anyone who would like to join, and prizes will be
offered to top fundraisers, including an Apple iPad Mini. Event festivities
began at 8 a.m., followed by the start of the walk at 9 a.m.
The staff at The Law Offices of Craig Goldenfarb, P.A., a West Palm Beach
law firm and longtime supporter of the American Heart Association, has
organized a team for the walk and will be sporting matching t-shirts with
the firm's theme for the day:

"My own father had a near-fatal heart attack when I was a teenager,
so this is an issue that's very near and dear to me, as it is to so
many of us", said Mr. Goldenfarb. "There is something very human
and intimate about heart disease. Every one of us participating in this
walk is passionate about beating it, and we're pleased to be a part
of that fight."
